Two world’s unite, a plant-based chef and a nature entrepreneur
Born to a Greek father and a Dutch mother, Jonathan went to culinary school at the age of 14. As a professional chef, he worked for some of the most famous restaurants and chefs in Europe.
His obsession with quality ingredients took him back to nature and the importance of good soil for a sustainable future with good food.
In 2007, Jonathan opened Vork En Mes in the Netherlands with a menu dictated by the seasons and the harvest from the restaurant’s greenhouse.
A meeting with Xander led to the formation of The Farm Kitchen in 2018 to scale soil to plate food experiences for a more sustainable future for everyone.
Xander began his career in sales and marketing roles working for large multinational companies. It was in his time in South Africa that he came to realise the powerful connection between nature and people’s livelihood and wellbeing.
Since then his path and purpose led him to work successfully in sustainability driven business models that deliver on people, planet, and profit.
The vision for The Farm Kitchen based on good soil, good food, and good people was born when Xander met well-known chef and entrepreneur Jonathan Karpathios.
The Farm Kitchen has grown into a nature inclusive company, starting in the Netherlands. We work with local farmers to promote regenerative agriculture and combine our creativity with the abundance of nature in season to create delicious plant-based food experiences. Our team is united by a bold vision to see a world where the food we eat doesn’t cost the earth but enriches it.
Togetherness is the way
We can only achieve our earth-loving mission together. We are thankful to all our partners that support us in making sustainable food experiences available to more people.
